Education Austin hosted a Know Your Rights Training for Educators on February 11, 2017 at Becker Elementary.
The training focused on training educators, social workers, counselors, parent support specialist about the rights of immigrant and refugee students. On Wednesday, February 15th, 2017, AISD shared with AISD administrators the Do’s and Don’ts for the Know Your Rights Trainings and the role of educators during these stressful times.
United We Dream is the largest immigrant youth-led organization in the nation. They are a powerful nonpartisan network is made up of over 100,000 immigrant youth and allies and 55 affiliate organizations in 26 states. The National Education Association in partnership with the Mexican American Legal Defense and Education Fund have put together frequent answers and questions about the rights of immigrant students.
